Being in the height of the summer months, nothing will make your kids happier while cooling them off, than an ice cream sundae… Party!

Both kids and adults alike will have fun making their own sundaes at your self-serve ice cream bar.

Here are a few ideas on how to set up your own ice cream sundae party and some ideas for toppings:

Have basic flavors of ice cream on hand… Vanilla, Chocolate and Strawberry.  Keep the ice cream flavors simple, the real fun and taste experience comes with the toppings.

Your choices for toppings are virtually endless.  There are two basic categories of toppings… Sauces and Sprinkles.  Let’s take a look at a few:

Cookies, crushed up.  You can use whatever type and flavor cookies you can think of… Chocolate Chip, Keebler Fudge Stripes, Sugar Cookies and even Starbucks Cookies for the adults.

Cereal as a topping.  That’s right, most of the popular cereals targeted towards kids will make a great ice cream topping… Coco Puffs, Captain Crunch, Cheerios, Apple Jacks even granola and the more “healthy” cereals can be used for the adults.

Sauces.  When it comes to sauces to top your ice cream sundae, your choices are almost as endless as the dry toppings… Chocolate, Caramel, Strawberry sauces are the old favorites but don’t forget all of the different flavors of jams and jellies!

Set out all of your toppings and have the ice cream already scooped up and portions, then let the kids create their own special sundaes!
